We are building the Don Reserve Homes with the environment in mind. After all we are living on a Reserve here, with no street frontage. We are building with a 7.5 star thermal efficientcy rating, and inside it we intend to carry on this philosophy.
All lighting will be LED. LEDs consume only 20% the energy of conventional bulbs. This will dramatically reduce electricity costs.
Also there will be a smart electricity meter placed in a convenient location, which will clearly tell you what the home's electricity consumption is at any time, its daily and its hourly consumption. This will remind you if you left appliances on, or let you know how much appliances cost to run.
Heating at this point will be done with just one centrally located 7KW heatpump, which we trust will suffice to keep the home cozy and warm.
