Investment Opportunity

Windows are in! Cladding in progress.

Imagine the Sea-change. You moved from Melbourne, left the rat-race and pollution, and have arrived in the majestic Don Home Reserve. A kitchen to die for (one home is Smeg equipped), sun streaming in, a breakfast bar with room for friends. You have the heat-pump purring along keeping the house nice and warm with minimum power thanks to the double glazing and great insulation. You can see the forest in front of you, and the driveway disappearing around the corner to civilisation.

Oohps, we're out of milk. You jump on your Electric Bicycle and in 1 minute you are at the corner store (300m away). Back in your home you didn't even hear your partner flush the toilet because of the sound proofing, but he is up and ready to go for a walk with the dog in the Don Reserve just outside the door. Gonzo is ready, tail wagging and all, as she knows her favourite trees are all there for her.

In the afternoon you might go for a stroll to the beach, or perhaps to the new aquatic centre. Perhaps there are sales in town at the brand new Homemakers Centre, we may just pop in, only 5 minutes from home. Maybe just drive past on the way from picking up Josh who is flying in from Melbourne this afternoon. It's only 10kms and  no traffic lights (!) away. The house will be busy as the Johnson's are sailing into port with The Spirit - they are bringing their car, we might pop over and see them sail in as we're only 5 minutes from the ferry. Josh will be in the spare room and the Johnson's can stay downstairs with their own bathroom. Easy!

You get the drift? Living in Devonport is very convenient. The weather is the best too, rarely ever over 30 degrees C, I can't remember the last time we had a frost either! Cradle Mountain has snow on it regularly, it is only 80kms away, and is spectacular. But so are all the other mountains and waterfalls in the area, most within 30 minutes drive.

From $480k you could be owning almost a 1000 square meters of strata-titled land, adjoining you neighbour who shares your driveway and has his own 1000 square meters of native bush parkland.  Maybe in the future you will decide to built that extra home on your block. Council permission has already been granted and water and sewerage infrastructure is already prepared.

And if you aren't convinced yet, why not rent to buy? You pay $1750 per month in rent and $1250 towards a deposit. You have as long as three years to buy at the agreed price and the saved deposit will be deducted from the total cost. Or if you change your mind, off you go back to where you came from, no further commitments!
